Abjeez lyrics, often humorous and sometimes rebellious, are written in Farsi, but the expressive groove of the music and the abjees’ dramatic delivery break down all language barriers to create a new synthesis of cultures.

The most celebrated recording artist in Iran for over three decades. Unable to perform in Iran since the 1979 Iranian Revolution due to the ban on solo female singers, her music now has a world-wide following.
Sunday March 14, 2010 The Norouz Celebration is a renowned programme that has now taken place every year for the past 9 years. The programme is a result of the hard work and co-operation of the MTO Sufi Society®, MTO College® and students from SOAS University. The event has become highly anticipated and is now a highlight of the calendar.
