Rastak a new ensemble for contemporary Persian folk music was formed as an experimental music group in 1997. The group seeks to collect, record and interpret traditional Persian folk music for a global audience, incorporating language, culture and history also merging traditional instruments and forms with contemporary rhythms.
What Can I Do? You can Organize, Recruit and Campaign in your School, Work place or among Friends and Family to form a Unit to participate in the 2nd Chicago Nowruz Parade. A unit starts with two people, one on each side of your banner.
Celebrate with Haji Firouz, Djena’s dance group, dancing with Negin, Kurdistan dance ensemble ROJAN, the best Iranian dance music by DJ Arya, and much more …. food and beverages available.

For the past several years, a large group of Dallas Iranian Americans have been actively involved in the preparation of the NowRuz Festival. Hundreds of children and teenagers have participated in the Festival’s artistic classes, including Persian dance, choir, theatre, and music. They show off their newfound skills by performing at the Festival.
Golha Kids, Arghavan Ensemble (traditional music), Delshodeh Ensemble ( traditional Persian Dance), Amoo Nowruz and a Surprise Stand up Comedian.
The Azerbaijan Trade and Cultural Center cordially invites you to the annual Novruz Holiday Celebration, featuring Azerbaijani music, dance, food and activities!
On March 10th, San Jose State University will celebrate the Persian New Year just a little early. Norooz, the most important holiday in Iran and among Iranian Americans and other Persian-speaking people marks the arrival of the spring equinox. But this year, Norooz is also marking the arrival of the newly established Iranian Studies program at SJSU.

Spring cleaning, or Khouneh Tekouni (literally means ’shaking the house’) or ‘complete cleaning of the house’ is commonly performed before Nowruz. Persians (Iranians, Afghans and Tajiks) and other Indo-Iranian groups (Kurds, Armenians, Azarbaijanis and Balochs) start preparing for the Nowruz with a major spring-cleaning of their houses, and carpet cleaning has become a new year ritual.
