About FEMEN:
FEMEN is a provocative Ukrainian Kiev based protest group, founded in 2008. The organization is internationally known for topless protests against sex tourism, sexism, lack of hot water in student dormitories, Ukraine not winning any medals at the 2010 Olympic Winter games in Vancouver, modern erotic art at the Pinchuk Art Centre and other topics. As of late April 2010 the organization is contemplating becoming a political party to run for seats in the next Ukrainian parliamentary election.

FEMEN justifies its provocative methods stating that “This is the only way to be heard in this country. If we staged simple protests with banners, then our claims would not have been noticed”. The organization plans to become the biggest and the most influential feminist movement in Europe.
