Haft-Seen or the seven ‘S’s is a traditional table setting of Nowruz, the traditional Iranian spring celebration. Today the haft seen table includes seven specific items, all starting with the letter seen in the Persian alphabet. Haft-Seen was originally called Haftchin derived from the words Chin and Haft meaning “to place” seven (items).

Sima Bina’s main focus is Iranian folk music. Bina has been able to gather and revive a collection of almost forgotten Iranian folk songs and melodies. Rana Farhan is an Iranian musician and singer of jazz and blues.
The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority is pleased to announce that on Sunday, April 1st 2012 it will open the Bull Run Special Events Center in to accommodate the Persian cultural festival known as 13 Bedar (or Sizdah Bedar).
Persian Dance Performance, Musical Performance, Dance Party with Daniel Asadi & Kael. Dinner will be provided by The Ohio Union. Traditional Persian Pastries will be provided by Nanak Bakery.

t’s Norooz time again and Nawranj Iranian Association is holding a gathering at U of T for everyone to have a chance to catch up with Eid Didani. It will be a unique night compared to other events planned by Nawranj. It’s Open Mic Night!
This year we have chosen a new location where for the first time an Iranian party is organized. The two different rooms, giving young and old space to dance and chill. The beautiful location with plenty of sitting space is available to us together to celebrate the Persian calendar year 1391.

Nowruz Commission, an alliance of twelve cultures who celebrate Nowruz on the first day of Spring at the exact moment of vernal equinox as the beginning of a new year, announced its third annual gala event in Washington. The event will be held in the Hall of the Americas at the historal building of the Organization of American States in Washington, DC.
Iranian-Americans will host a special celebration of Nowruz for over 2,000 residents of LA’s Skid Row community at The Midnight Mission. This unique outdoor festival will feature a traditional Nowruz meal and delicacies as well as special performances by notable Iranian-American performers and dance ensembles.
Celebrate the ancient festival of the Spring Equinox, Norouz. Marking the Persian New Year, make merry with a programme of films, music, art and comedy.
Join us for a spring celebration of music with Persian-tuned pianist, Ramin Zoufonoun featuring his “Spring Suite” based on original compositions, arrangements of classical Persian songs about spring, as well cross-cultural pieces inspired by American Jazz and Iranian folk music, based on poetry by Rumi and Fereydun Moshiri.
