The Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority is pleased to announce that on Sunday, April 1st 2012 it will open the Bull Run Special Events Center in to accommodate the Persian cultural festival known as 13 Bedar (or Sizdah Bedar).
Sizdah Bedar (or 13 Bedar) is a day of celebration in the outdoors in Persian culture. This day falls on the 13th day of the Persian calendar, which usually falls in early April. Part of the tradition is to knot blades of grass or wheat and send them downstream. With Cub Run flowing next to the Special Events Center, it provides a perfect place for this custom that symbolizes out with the old and beginning a new year.

Please join us and many Iranians and other nationalities who celebrate Norouz and 13th day passed Norouz, this year at Bull Run Regional Park Special Events Center in Centreville, VA.
Unlike previous years, this year many people have got together to bring what Northern Virginian citizens deserved all these years, an organized event and a venue where it can hold more than 10,000 people with free parking and many amenities to celebrate the ancient Persian picnic day festival.
Note: Algonkian park in Sterling, Virginia was not designed to accommodate groups of 7000-9000. Therefore, Northern Virginia Park Authority WILL LIMIT CAPACITY at Algonkian this year to only locals which is much less than previous years. Instead, Northern Virginia Park Authority is offering Bull Run Special Events Center as an alternate site for this year’s celebration.
