Denmark – Nowruz Iranian New Year Celebration

The ancient Persian New Year ceremony is celebrated throughout the day with music, dance, lectures and Persian New Year menu in the restaurant.

PROGRAM

Small hall

12:30 to 13:30 – Persian literature, lectures and readings, Arash Sharifzade Abdi

In this lecture Arash Sharifzade Abdi will give a little taste of Persian poetry in a short cultural and historical features. The modern Persian language renaissance years 900-1500 will be presented by three poets.  The lecture is in Danish.

14:15 – Nowruz tradition, lecture by Arash Sharifzade Abdi

The lecture deals with the rituals of the ancient Persian New Year ceremony, among other things, held in Persepolis, which today houses an archaeological temple plateau with an age of about 2500 years. lecture is in Danish.

19.30 – Concert with Farshad Jamali

Farshad Jamali is classical Persian singer, who on this occasion sings music of the composer Khaladbari, one of Iran’s great film composers.  Ticket can be purchased in the Concert Hall ticket office or at www.billetlugen.dk

Maria Arianfar and Aziz Azimi will dance Azerbaijani couples dancing.

16.00 – Farshad Jamali singing at communal (café)

We sing the Iranian national anthem EY IRAN

16:20 – Rojan dance group at Maria Arianfar (Foyer stage)

For daily teaches the Iranian dancer MrIA Arianfar this group of Kurdish dance. Here they will give a festive taste of their skills.

16:50 – Hadji Pirouz (Foyer stage)

17:00 – Concert with Khayyamsuite, Camilla Dayyani (café)

Camilla Dayyani is half Iranian and half Danish. She has composed music for poems by Omar Khayyam. Camilla Dayyani is jazz musician and here she met with the Italian folk musician Valeria Conte on clarinet, the Iranian percussionist Homayoun Nasri. Together they interpret these forever young musical poems. Massi Chavoshi will recite poems in Farsi and Camilla will sing translations in Danish.

17:30 – The winner of the Haft Seen competition appointed (Foyer Stage)

During the afternoon, all guests vote on which of the nominated Haftsin tablecloths to win the competition.

21:30 to 22:30 – Azerbaijani musicians play up to dance

End this lovely day with dancing in the foyer. The musicians will play folklore from the Azarbadjan part of Iran.
