Like many Iranians you are probably
conflicted about Iran, its
nuclear activities, and if there should be regime change through military action
or not.
Some may feel that if they oppose
military action and sanctions they are therefore supporting the current Islamic
regime in Iran. Some that support regime change
also support military action and sanctions. Some don't know where they stand and
don't have sufficient information to make a decision.
Unfortunately a majority of Iranians
are standing on the sidelines because they feel they have no voice in any of the
outcomes, can't do anything about events, and feel alienated and impotent. If
Iran is to avoid being turned
into Iraq then this all has to change. The
time to act is now. The time to stop the war is now.
The sanctions that the United
Nations imposed recently have started the ball rolling towards a military
confrontation. And only you can stop that ball from rolling over
Iran and crushing the entire country.
It does not matter if you are living outside Iran or inside Iran.
Any change in Iran should be bought by the people of
Iran and not by Western
states; the results of recent elections show how determined Iranians are to act
independently in order to produce change in Iran. Finding
ways to give support and encouragement to these forces needs to be
found.
Those Iranians living outside
Iran have the greater
responsibility to act given that they have the freedom to assemble, organize,
and directly lobby and petition those in Washington and Downing
Street.
Religious minorities have a special
responsibility and could play a very important role in this conflict. It is
understood that they have faced difficulties since the revolution but they need
to also understand that this is a temporary condition and that one day there
will be a separation of mosque and state and they will be able to return to
living in Iran as the have for thousands of
years.
I urge all Iranians to become
anti-war activists because Iran is in great danger and it needs
all of us to come to its rescue. Time is on our side for making other changes in
Iran but time is not on our side for
stopping war.
The time to act is
now.
If you are unsure how to get
involved a very good place to start is to read the mission statement of Campaign
Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran.

We in Iran need your
help to stop this disaster from taking place. Please give this serious
consideration and find a way to do your part. After the bombs start falling it
will be too late.
