Iran's Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National
Security Council (SNSC) Javad Vaeedi and visiting Deputy IAEA Chief for
Safeguards Olli Heinonen co-chaired the talks over the P1 and P2 centrifuges,
underway at the secretariat of the SNSC.
The talks started on Monday within the framework of
an agreement signed by officials from Iran and the IAEA in August 21.
The first round of Vaeedi-Heinonen talks on P1 and P2
centrifuges was held in Tehran on October 9-11.
Deputy Head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization for
International Affairs Mohammad Saeedi and Iran's permanent envoy to IAEA,
Ali-Asghar Soltaniyeh, are members of the Iranian delegation to the talks.
Director for Safeguards Operations Herman Nackartes,
Hosoya Michio of the Division of Safeguards and IAEA Safeguards expert Malik
Derrough comprise members of the IAEA negotiation team.
The result of Vaeedi-Heinonen talks would appear in a
report by the agency's Director-General Mohamed ElBaradei, to be released in
November.
Rapporteur of Majlis National Security and Foreign
Policy Commission Kazem Jalali quoted Vaeedi as saying on Tuesday that Iran has
given transparent and comprehensive information about the P1 and P2 centrifuges
to the IAEA.
Vaeedi hoped that current constructive talks with
Heinonen would bring to a close the issue of the
centrifuges.
