Tehran Vocal Ensemble wins medals World Choir Championship

TEHRAN (ISNA)-Tehran Vocal Ensemble has managed to win 2 medals at World Choir Championship (2nd Asian Choir Games 2009) in South Korea. Conducted by Milad Omranloo, the ensemble received Gold Medal for its performance in Mixed Chamber Choirs. It also achieved Silver Medal for Folklore music section.

The ensemble with 16 members performed noninstrumental pieces at the festival that ran 7-11 July in Gyeongnam province.

Gioacchino Rossini's "The Barber of Seville Overture", Alireza Qorbani's "Carnival", Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumble Bee" and Aram Khachaturian's "Sabre Dance" in the Mixed Chamber Choirs as well as two folk pieces from Gilan and Azarbaijan provinces of Iran in folklore category were performed by the ensemble at the festival.
