Celebrating Norooz and founding of the Iranian Studies Program at San Jose State University

An Evening of Music and Poetry to Celebrate

NOROOZ, The Persian New Year

To mark the founding of the Iranian Studies Program at San Jose State University

March 10, 2011 7 PM Engineering Auditorium, SJSU

This program commemorates the establishment of the Iranian Studies program at San Jose State University through a generous gift of the PARSA Community Foundation. Iranian Studies at SJSU will develop curriculum in Persian language as well as research and courses in Iranian and Iranian-American culture. Norooz is an important Iranian national holiday marking the arrival of spring and is celebrated by Iranians, Iranian-Americans and Persian-speaking people throughout the world.

This program is sponsored by Iranian Studies at SJSU, the Associated Students, the student Association for Middle Eastern Studies, the Association of Iranian-American Writers (AIAW), and the Middle Eastern Studies Program at San Jose State University and is made possible through the generous support of the PARSA Community Foundation.
